Partial shade = lots of indirect light and never direct sun.

Place e.g. directly at the north window / ground floor window or near an east / west window up to 1m away; At the south window move further into the room 1-3mm). 

The smartphone is very easy to read in a partially shaded location even at medium brightness. Direct sunlight must never hit the plant: it should never be exposed to the midday sun, otherwise there is a risk of sunburn! These types of plants also need indirect solar radiation, but can be placed deeper in the room.
